Affordable housing for all ages and incomes:
Rental Housing
Leveraging local knowledge and contacts, we work to identify suitable spaces for new or refurbished multi-family rental housing to expand our workforce opportunities and provide safe, affordable housing for those with limited incomes, particularly veterans, seniors, and people with disabilities. By working with both local developers and regional specialists well-versed in successfully using public resources for quality housing, we strive to create rental opportunities for everyone in the Poconos.
Homeowner Housing
A penny saved is a penny earned. This applies to saving existing housing as well. When the costs to build new homes are so high, it is critical to retain as much existing housing as is practical. Whether supporting agencies with expertise in this field (Redevelopment Authorities and Habitat for Humanity), or coordinating repair work ourselves in communities without such organizations, we value retaining the homes and neighborhoods that have made the Poconos unique.
Municipal Collaboration
Creating spaces and updating rules to support smart housing development is critical to addressing the Pocono’s housing shortage. We work with boroughs and municipalities across the Poconos to identify and recommend ways to reconsider zoning, inspection, and utility planning so housing developers can be successful while protecting the habitat, beauty, and quality of life in our Poconos communities.
